More Medals at the Borough finals!

Netball Borough Finals

Last Friday seven year 6 children attended the Merton borough netball finals, having successfully won the cluster competition a few days before. Fifteen of the borough's top netball teams were in attendance. The morning consisted of 'pool' matches to determine seeded positions for the afternoon. Poplar won all of these matches effortlessly to finish top of their group. Going into the afternoon we were seeded 2nd. The children began the quarter finals with a fantastic game against Garfield, winning 7-0, and continued their winning streak in the semi-finals. The last game of the day, determining 1st and 2nd position, was unfortunately a loss for Poplar. However, the children were incredibly proud of their 2nd place achievement, as are myself (Miss Wood) and Mr.Edwards! Until this match the team had won 10 matches in a row having only had 5 weeks of playing together. The team's camaraderie and sportsmanship shone through during the entire day. Congratulations!
